The portrait, a portrayal of sorts,
a person,
a place perhaps,

a time.

At the beginning I thought
that the portrait was an image of
a person.

It seemed to fit with the question,
"would you like to have you picture taken?"
"how would you like your portrait"

does it go any further than that?
I question it. And apparently it does.

To me, it has to go beyond the necessary likeness
of a person. It has to punctuate, underscore
and affirm a person's presence.

How do you do that? and with what?
